Which features work on Android and which on iOS?

Android has the full deck: local library (folder scan), mixtapes, the 10-band EQ with tape effects, and internet radio. iOS launches with internet radio only, so there is no local library, mixtape or EQ on iOS yet.

Where does my music come from?

On Android, Audionix reads audio files from a folder you choose on your own device, and each subfolder becomes a cassette. It doesn't come bundled with any music, and it can't see files outside the folder(s) you add.

Do I need an account?

No. Audionix has no sign-up, no login, and no cloud sync. Everything lives on your device.

Does Audionix send anything over the internet?

Your audio files never leave your phone. Three things use the network: internet radio (the free radio-browser.info directory, which is also contacted when the app opens to load stations for your region, and the stations' own streams); text-only cover-art and metadata lookups (titles, artists and album names) sent to Apple's iTunes Search; and, on Android, a purchase check with Google Play that confirms your account still owns the app. The purchase check sends no personal details and stores nothing about you. The lookups run automatically by default. To turn them off, open the REAR tab and switch "Auto online lookups" to OFF; Audionix will then only look things up when you tap Fetch Metadata or refresh a track or cassette online.

Why is a cassette missing cover art?

Not every track has embedded artwork, and automatic lookups don't always find a confident match (or are switched off under REAR → Auto online lookups). Open REAR → Fetch Metadata to retry, or pick art yourself from a cassette's options menu (Choose cover art).

Does internet radio use my mobile data?

Yes — streaming a station works like any other internet radio app and will use your connection's data, same as streaming audio anywhere else.

Can I use Audionix offline?

Your local library and mixtapes play fully offline on Android; radio and online lookups need a connection. The app checks your Google Play purchase when it opens, but if you're offline it simply carries on, so you can use it anywhere.

Why does Audionix say it isn't licensed on this account?

Audionix is a paid app, and Google Play reports that the Google account on this phone doesn't own it, for example because the purchase was refunded. If you think that's a mistake, make sure you're signed in to the Google account you bought it with, then tap Retry. If it still doesn't clear, email us with the order details and we'll sort it out.
